Hi to all....

Anybody used Pinnacle Instant Copy 7 for conversion of a dvd to svcd???

Is it working???? The quality is good or bad??? It will always require a 2nd disc or i can put all contents in one?

Thank you

IC7 doesn't let you choose how many cds to put on SVCD. Don't try it. Stick with dvd2svcd with CCE for SVCDs.

@s_kound

I usually only use the SVCD feature if there's only one special feature on the original disk that I want to keep. This way, I can create a movie-only version (using IFOedit) of the main movie, and make a SVCD of the extra. The video quality's pretty fair, but even if the program chain you're copying is under the 700MB mark, InstantCopy will still encode the hell out of it, creating a file of right around 350MB for a 15 minute video clip. I've also had one occasion (We Were Soldiers: Getting it Right) where the sound didn't sinc with the video. It works well enough MOST of the time, so I usually use it if there's an interesting extra that I want to keep (Let's be honest, here; exactly how many times are you going to watch ANY given extra? Once or twice, total?). Since CDs are about as cheap as dirt, it doesn't cost much to experiment -- and when it works, it leaves you that much more space for the quality of the main movie. Since DVD burners are coming down in price almost by the minute, I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for Pinnacle to improve the Video CD option.
