How can I do that? From the 9.2M2 I only have erv*.dll, and on Helix Producer there is also rv*.dll.
How can I use the lastest milestone with Helix GUI?

just make job files with gui and use command line like that producer -j 00.rpjf -daw
btw if u have REALLY FAST CPU u can try add whose lines to job file's
videostream section
<codecProperties type="bag">
<encoderComplexity type="uint">75</encoderComplexity>
</codecProperties>

That's great. But what is encoderComplexity?
0 = blurry
100 = razor sharp
:confused:

hmm, this option is not quite ready yet. It might currently do something, but not really what is intended. I just checked in the new and improved code though, so it will be included in the next Milestone build. Then I will post an announcement with more details. Until then, using this option will not do much at all and is indeed quite useless.

hi there guys,
i exchanged the old producer.exe file with the latest milestone & it is working, but i have no clue if the program is using it. ;) so give it a try, who knows what will happen. if you back up the old file, there is no risk at all. just try it.
take care!

no, i am afraid it is not used. When the GUI producer is run, the command line producer.exe is not used.
I posted this is the RV9 info thread:
"no, unfortunately, it's not that easy [copying producer.exe into the GUI producer folder]. The most general solution is to use the GUI to create a job file, save it as jobfile.rpjf, then run the new command line producer with producer -j jobfile.rpjf. Before this you can edit the job file and add the options for the new high quality mode.
I have also added reg keys though, for convenient settings of these options without editing the job file.
I think I will also provide instructions for how to plug the new encoder DLL into the old GUI producer, then at least the improved compression efficiency will be availble (with the reg key settings)."

@Karl
hi Karl, i want to ask you , if you are involved of the producer GUI development? if you are, i would like to ask you to make the crop funktion better. what i mean is, to forward through the movie, because now that's impossible. when i open the ripped .vob file , i only see a black screen & i can't crop. i need to use another program & then to remember the cropping settings. so that would be a nice feature for the future. because the simpliest way for me to make RV9 from DVD is the Helix Producer. well that's all for now!
talk to you later, guys!

nope, I only work on the video codec, decoder, encoder.
But the producer team is right down the hall, and I can tell you we know about the issues with the crop function in the GUI producer. It is not working well at all without the ability to change the video position, and I too, have to use another program to determine the crop settings. On the other hand, I don't use the GUI producer much these days, just the command line, and other tools to create job files, where these other tools do the cropping settings.
Right now the producer team's focus is on the Helix Producer and its SDK, so a new GUI is not immediately forthcoming either.

GOTCHA , thanks for the information. could you give me an example how to open the job file with another program. & when you create the job file, do you crop the movie or not. that would be very cool of you, if you can write an example for the rest of the people interested in RV9. like what program do you use for the job, & how to set it up. i hope you have the time to do this or can you post again the link, if such a guide already exists somewhere in the forum. thanks again for your time.

sorry, i was just talking about the alternative RV9 encoding tools, GUIs that combine a bunch command line tools, and then create the Avisynth scripts with the right cropping, audience files, and command line parameters for Producer, before finally running the command line producer. Such tools are mentioned in the first post in the RV9 information thread.
