When playing back any Divx 5 encoded clip (at least thru WMP or Power DVD), regardless of content, bit-rate or enhancement features used, I always always always get a speckled picture - unless I playback using the player from Divx themselves. Why is this? Is this 'noise' actually encoded in the file, because if it is, it must be taking up a heck of a lot of space by preventing otherwise proper compression?
I have a Radeon 9700 and I understand the Divx player uses post-processing to clear up dirty pictures, but even with this turned off, I still have a perfect picture in the Divx player but not from any other player!
