Finally :D

zedude, could you please make a non-rippack distro? That'd be great!

Sirber

You can load a DVD2AVI project directly, but it's recommended to start from smartripper.

@kilg0r3: good idea : i've just uploaded a 'light' version (800ko) with no external apps...you have to have yours :)

i did many backups (with pal dvds) and had no bugs , so if you find any bugs or mistakes with calculations ,give some feedback ,please .

see you...

@ zedude

can you do 2cd backups with two audio streams plus subtitles with rm factroy? sorry if i miss something but i just did not see how to split the audio tracks and subtitles properly. :)

zedude
18th May 2003, 21:48
@ kilg0r3 : you're right : rmfactory doesn't allow to split final files atm but this feature is on the 'to do' list for sure :)

Another thing I’ll probably never understand is, - _very_ probably because I am no coder - , why people prefer to work independently instead of throwing their coding force together? No offense meant, of course.
I would really like to learn some coding but consider my logic skills too inferior and myself as too old anyway.

could someone explain me why french people are crasy of rv9??? Because it is absurdly simple to program for. RealVideo/Helix Producer is a comand line program (producer.exe).

To use divx or xvid, you need to go through vdub first. Writing a GUI to control a GUI is much more difficult, not to mention, rediculus in the first place, unless you are controlling multiple GUIs at once; And that is even more difficult to program.

As for why all the programers are french? You got me.

I have the possible answer to why all Rv9 encoder are all done by french people.

If you recall... the first Rv9 codec pack was done by french people as well.

And if you do a bit of research, a lot of french people here do anime encoding as well.

so you can conclude why....

i thought that the amount of program came from the easily way to control realproducer (btw piloting vdub with vcf script file, isn't very complicated...) but why only french? Yes,(japanese)animes are very popular ( i only show and encode japanese anime, about 300go on my harddrives :D and only xvid or sbc ^^) is it a reason ? i don't know, but i have to say that Rv9 is popular too...

btw, i really don't like rv9, but it could be a good idea for rv9 programmer to work together (i heard something about that with darkangel(autorv9) and x2real(akabob) on french board)

zedude

@sigmatador : what is so funny ? author's location doesn't realy matter here ...
@31flavas : you are right , this is simple to program for. But simple doesn't mean simplistic and that's good for me because i'm still_bad_but_learning C (i do maple scripts for computer algebra as a job and i knew quite nothing in C 6months ago).

rv9 video and rmfactory feets all my needs and whishes for 1 cd dvd backups and that's what i wanted :) i did my own programming cause i just always say 'how to do this and that ?' and really love to find a good solution...also remember we french are the people who work the less (35h/week) :D .

Well that is what i notice, they either be a xvid fan ( MarcFD ) :D or be a RV9 fans.

Although i am not french most of my encoding now ( it used to be all of my encoding..... but now i encode some TV series as well ) are anime. And Rv9 prove to be THE BEST at low bitrate. enough said.

It is sad that the fact all rv9 are not as complete as they could be. Each provide the advantages which others don't have.

However, it is nice to see that programmers are getting into Helix.

P.S Any programmer getting so in it that they could make a DDshow player filter for Rv9 and or put them in mka??

:D

Maybe people like RV9 because it's a free codec, with no license problems. You can get great results with RV9 if you understand how it works...

i know that the location doesn't matter, but i was just curious about this particularity.

"35h/week" --> That's the reason :D
btw, using the free time to help the video community isn't a bad thing (even if i would prefer helping de open source community ;) )

okay i tried again but the download still doesn't work. however i just tried HELIX PRODUCER GUI 0.2f http://tfc69.hopto.org/ and it serves the same purpose that i was looking for.

I wonder why this software hasn't never worked with MipSmooth.dll avs-filter? I haven't had any other problems with this and this is the easiest software to use if you wanna made your own avs-scripts and just encode them to RealMedia.

Unfortunately, this mipsmooth-bug is in that too. This tool would have been so easy to use when testing avs-scripts without this one :(

I just installed RMFactory2 and it crashes on startup with a "RMFactory has encountered a problem and needs to close ,we are sorry for any inconvenience"
Is this a known issue or is there something i am doing wrong?

However, RMF2 is released under gnu/gpl, so anyone interested could get the source code ( for delphi7 ) and just translate it, or, even better, build an international version :) feel free to contact me.

@ Kb_cruncher : never seen this, maybe this is due to some language issue (rmfactory2's executable language is french)

Yes, i suppose it could be that.I'm not sure.I guess i will wait until there is a version that works, there are plenty of other rv9 tools to play with in the meantime:D

Where do i start:confused: I do high quality multichannel dvd backups RealAnim isn't designed for this unfortunatly but i do eagerly await SurrealUI.
At the moment i am using HPG as it seems to be the most bug free GUI and is one of the easiest to use.[EDIT]it can use M7 without issues too which i'm very happy about(encodes take so long its frustrating having to do lots of tests)and the fastVBR erv4 works well:D

so any french guy want to do a translate :)

the RC1.2.1 crash on me all the time
i think this is the only gui that allow me to modify the audio from stereo to voice as i am recording from mono source.

if there would be an extrernal language file, I could try to translate it... although I am from Germany, I have 5 yrs experience with french (school) and could give it a shot before I forget everything :D

Six months since last post. I guess this project is dead then. This was very good GUI and first one with avs-support. Very easy to use after you had made your favourite scripts.

It's a shame that it hasn't been updated.
