Helix Producer w/ Xvid + AC3 AVI source

The source file is Ranma ½ series.

Video: 640x480 XViD 2-pass
Audio: 2ch 192kbps AC3
Lang : Japanese, with English subs
TV-series (1989)

When I load the file, and press Endoce, Helox producer tells me "There is an error". Nothing more.

Helix Producer GUI don't like ac3filter_0_68b.

strip the ac3 from the file, convert it to WAV, do a directstreamcopy of a video-only file, load the video-only file and the WAV in helixproducer, problem solved.

realproducer have some problems with directshowfilters, crash on .ac3 input / .ogg input

the latest Helix Producer Milestone accepts separate audio and video input files, i.e. you can have an AC3 source, and a video source (avs). I know my co-worker has tried this, with ac3filter as the dshow filter for ac3, and it has been working fine. For now, you should probably set ac3filter to downmix the AC3 5.1 channels to Dolby Surround. If you try this out, and have problems with it, please let me know. Thanks!
