I've just started experimenting with IFOUpdate 0.71 to preserve menus/extras after being a 'movie only' guy for a long time.

My first tests appeared to work. After CCE'ing the movie and extra(s), I used IFOUpdate and I was glad to see the main menu linked up to the extras and even the chapters.

However I noticed weirdness when navigating the DVD via the time slider in Sonic Cineplayer. The movie is about 2hrs 41mins long. If I jump to a specific time using the slider, for instance 1:00, it lands at 1:42. The amount of difference seems to roughly correspond to the amount of compression I did to the title. The reauthored extra's have the same problem.

The reauthored movie ends correctly and shows the correct time at the end. If I jump forward and back using the chapter buttons, it works as expected.

The time slider works as expected on the original title.

My question is does this happen to anyone else or did I do something wrong that I can fix?

One other thing. Due to compression, a few vobs were trimmed off. Now when Nero does it's check, it gives a warning: "required file VTS_01_5.VOB is not present"

This vob is eliminated due to compression and everything seems to play okay.

You didn't correct VTS sectors, this adjusts the million or so pointers that are now incorrect, including (but not limited to) where time 1:00 is, and how long the vob is (not how many files, but it amounts to the same thing).

I have done the "Get VTS sectors" routine with Ifoedit 0.95 and also the "Correct VTS Sectors" button on IFOUpdate. I ran these after I noticed the problem and they don't seem to make a difference.

Or are you referring to the Options->Autocorrect VTS Sectors (when updating) command in IFOUPdate? I have activated this but I don't know if it was active when I originally processed the main title. Maybe I'll try it again.

It seems the important setting in IFOUpdate was
Options->VTS_TMAPTI Table Transfer (Time Map)

When activated this cured the time seeking problem. I don't think this is enabled by default.

One last problem I can't shake. After IFOUpdate, there is still some reference in one of the IFO's pointing to a VOB that has been trimmed out due to compression. I've run Get VTS sectors in Ifoedit and Ifoupdate. I still get this message when I run Nero:

Required file 'VTS_01_5.VOB' is not present.

I bypass the message and the disk seems to burn and play okay, so it's not a huge deal, but something I'd like to clear up.
