DVD+R is gonna take awhile. Ritek DVD+R 2.4X has been discontinued apparently. Anyone know of around $1.50 per decent DVD+R media. I like it better than Ritek 4X because my Ritek 4X burns at 2X (31mins) and Ritek 2.4X always (get this) burns at 2.4X (22mins).

Here's an email I got back from rima.com customer support:

Subject: Re: DVD+R where is it?

Not the Iraq war - the DVD war.
Seems that the manufacturers are reorganizing their production lines to meet certain market demands, headed in the direction of the most profitable products. For many of the manufactures, selling to well known companies who then put their own Brand Name on the disc is also a trend. Regarding 2.4X Ritek+Rs, we are told, that particular item has been discontinued from their lineup, though we anticipate getting other brands.

Currently, for the inexpensive and bulk non-logo varieties that we offer, there are some shortages. While we are working hard behind the scenes to fill shortages for the bulk marketplace, we have to be ever mindful of securing a quality product.

Weird. I know prodisc technologies make DVD+R discs for around the same price.

I also saw 4x Ritek DVD+Rs at meritline: http://www.meritline.com/ridvme44xdvb.html

I bought a 100 pack of Ritek 2.4X DVD+R for $150 back in March. That link is $229 for 100 pack. $1.50 per vs. $2.29 ...I think that speaks volumes about the availability of Ritek DVD+R. What it sounds like Ritek is doing is instead gonna churn out DVD+R 4X media.
