Hi
I had the following problem recently:
http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&postid=311647
and I discovered that there are two things that I would like IFOUpdate to do if possible:
1) Copy, from the VTS_PGCITI table - for each PGC cell, the cell: still time field from the original to the output. This would be very useful and create a more correct IFO in the example above.
2) Not to copy, from the VTS_PGCITI table - for each PGC cell, the cell: restricted field. Scenarist seems to author some cells with it set to 64 (restricted) whereas the original IFO is 0. This causes unnecessary pauses and to leave it out would create a more correct IFO in the example above.
I would be more than happy to provide more infomation if needed. I would be most grateful if you could give this some thought.
Many thanks for your time,
Kindest Regards,
Andy

The author (Derrow) is now employed by afterdawn.com and using his talent on the DVDXCOPY application. A tremendous gain for them and an equally great loss for us. I do not believe you will see a release beyond the current .95 version.

These 2 programs get confused a lot - IfoUpdate was written by and is maintained by JDobbs. And it's easier to get his attention in the Authoring or Advanced Authoring forums, so I'll move this thread.
btw - Derrow works for 321studios, not afterdawn. Afterdawn is only a forum, one which embraces DVDXCopy, but still only a forum.

Indeed this is a tremendous gain for 321 studios and a great loss for us, ive been holding out hope that derrow might return to the ifoedit scene or (as he has said in a few posts) might find some time to update it. I fear riprazor might be right that we will not see another release beyond 0.95 which is a shame because it was (in my opinion) the best tool for the job (keeping a movie on a single disc with the remux option) and as i have noticed lately ifoedit has trouble with some of the new dvds.

Sorry about that... my bad! I thought that now the forum title had changed from IFOEdit that it was the right place!
Cheers

MPU, sorry about the screw up on the forum's. As usual, you are correct about the forum vs. company.
Riprazor (still holding out hope for Derrow's return)

I'll look at it this weekend. If it looks easy enough I'll post a new version.

@AndyP
In standard mode IFOUpdate moves the entire block of information associated with the cell table as a single unit so it would be difficult to keep individual values within each cell unit. Standard Mode doesn't examine individual cells (Adjusted Mode does) and assumes your reauthored file has created the structure as you want it to appear in the output. Also, the "original" file actually is the "output."
That doesn't mean I will never make the change -- but it won't likely happen this weekend. Sorry.
I'm not a Scenarist expert, but are you sure there is no way to control the setting of the "still time" and "restricted" fields when authoring?
Have you tried "Adjusted Mode" to copy this DVD? Personally I have gone pretty much completely to using this mode and rarely use Standard.

My Vote also goes to Adjusted Cell Mode. I am using it all the time and saves me the trouble of defining playlists and layer break points in Maestro.
Thank u jdobbs. :)

Not at all. Thank you for explaining.

And herein lies the problem.... Neither am I :D I am using Reauthorist and playing with the SCP file. I will let you know if I do find away to do it. I am certain that you are right.. I am sure there is a way.. it's just finding it!

I have read some of the long IFOupdate thread that seems to deal with the adjusted cell mode but I have a question if I may. I am using DIF4U and Reauthorist, not the method you describe in the thread. In my case do I just update the IFOs with adjusted cell mode selected and not standard mode? or is it more complicated??
Kind Regards,
Andy
