Pardon newbe question. But so far things are going quite well with Doitfast4u. My question is after running dif4u and docce4u, I have a directory with many file types: .avs .d2v .ecl. .m2v .mpv, etc.

Obviously, only certain types are accepted in Scenarist in the first place, however I don't think all the ones that are accepted should go in. In all the guides they just say to import your assets. The audio files are obvious, but still would be nice for others here if this was shown better in the guides - I have been using Das Uberguide and the Doom9 guides for dif4u and scenarist.

For my video do I just bring in the .m2v files?
How are the chaps and subs brought in? I see the sub dir out there created from the other processes. Do they come in to the data area of Scenarist?

Again very sorry for this, but the guides were GREAT until this part of knowing which files in the processed dirs are actually imported.

Thanks in advance!!!!!!!!!

Well, assuming that you are NTSC you would import the .m2v files and the .ac3 files that DoItFast4U! and DoCCE4U created. Then, use these assets to create your tracks and then the tracks to create the pgc's in the Scenario editor.

As far as setting up chapter points, use ScenChap. If you don't know how to use it, check out the forum and read thru the guides. Subs are imported from .sst files generated during the demux process by DIF4U. From a track, click on Tools->Import Subs and import the appropriate sub track from your DIF4U directory. You can find the sub directory underneath the vts folder (x:\reauthored\vts01\subs).

The .avs, .d2v, and .ecl files are generated by DoItFast4U! when it is demuxing your project. Those do not go into Scenarist. :)

Hope this helped you out.

Pretty helpful from Shanez (and nice from him too).
But my advice would be that you read the uberguide again and again, focus on the specific parts you may have overlooked (sub import and chapters are very well dscribed in the guide).
This kind of stuff requires several readings before you master it.
Go ahead, it'll pay in return.

Good luck
