My problem is that when im creating still menus for the dvd which i am trying to backup, when testing the dvd files in any dvd software player, either the screen stays black or the menu which appears will not function properly.
What happens if it does appear is that the 'Play Movie' button works, but when the 'Scene Selection' button is pressed, it just halts, the software doesnt crash though as i can reload the dvd and it will still allow me to plat the dvd.
Its just the menu access that im having a problem with.
I used VOBrator to grab the menus, as that way the menus are in m2v form.maybe thats the problem. I noticed that if i use the main menu.m2v that the screen stays blank in the dvd software while in i take a printscreen, and paste and edit in psp, save as .bmp, and re-insert it, that it will allow the main menu to run.
Could it be that all the menus need to be in .bmp format, and movie menus in .m2v format, even if the .m2v file is only 1 frame?

That is correct. Maestro doesn't like 1 frame m2v files like a still picture and behaves as it does. Transform all your single frame m2vs in bmp and u will be fine.

thx for that confirmation. I also currently working on a multi menu which will contain both animated and still menus. I imagine that i can use the same process as i did before to use for the scene selection menus , while keeping evry other menu animated.

thx again

as long as u dont have any single frame m2v file, every other combination of animated menus and still pictures is valid
