Hello to everyone.
Hope this is the right place to put my question. Finished authoring a dvd (not a rip), with scenarist 2.6. It plays in everyplayer I tried it except on a Pioneer. I'm using Language folders in the VTS's due to many different clips and audios. Also using the VMG for dummy pgc's.
Other, more simple, dvd's authored without dummy's and lang. folders, play fine on the Pioneer. In case I burn with RecordNow to a "Pioneer" A04. Any ideas. Is there a trick for authoring a complex dvd in scenarist that'll play on a Pioneer standalone?
any comment suggestion, etc., is very welcomed
thanks

That's strange...
I think anything that scenarist outputs is fully dvd-compliant...
So it seems to be your player...
You should post the model...
Maybe have a look over to www.vcdhelp.com and search for the player, to see if somebody there wrote a comment about it that might help you...
What happens when you place the disk into the pioneer? Doesn't it load the disk at all or is it freezing at the menu?
Maybe try a firmware update?
Maybe this can help you?

Thanks ultimatebilly for your prompt reply.
the player in question is a dv-344 and an old dvl-700. had already checked vcd help and no problems with this player. already have the latest firmware on my A04. After the legal warning, goes to the menu where you can choose languages, movie, chapters, and extras. once I hit the movie button, it stops. if I go to the languages or chapters menus, works ok, but as soon as I select a chapter or language, it stops.
I'm sure it's got something to do with the way I'm authoring it.
suggestions, comments, help ?

Sorry, no ideas...
Seems that the players don't support stuff like dummy PGCs, althought it is fully dvd-compliant...
I wonder what they do with commercial DVDs like the matrix?

Perhaps a link is missing or wrongly implemented at least for the Pionneer. Do u have full navigational capabilities in the other standalones?

Pioneer players are known to be the most picky players in existence. They won't play a DVD unless it is spot-on perfect. I've found that Nero can't even come close to making a DVDr that a Pioneer will play. Several others can, such as Prassi. My personal preference is Imgtool 0.90 Build 4 to create an .iso , then burn that .iso with DVD Decrypter. Plays in my Pioneer everytime.

guys! hi. I have made several dvd's from scenarist 2.6 and 2.5.All of the images i wrote with nero.BUT, nero had a version which didnt record the dvd's correctly. When i was inserting it into DV-344 it wasnt recognized.I believe that you should try to download the latest nero and record ur dvd. I have a Pioneer DV-340 and i am playing all the dvd-r i am creating. It doesn't have to do with dummy pgc's cause it works in mine.

check out ur NERO version. I use 5.5.10.15 and i am super satisfied.
