I heard rumors about a new 'Options -> Shutdown when finished' feature since VirtualDub (vanilla) version 1.5.0 ... :p

It must be no more than a rumor then, because there is no such setting under Options. Neither VDubMod nor VDub has it.
In other words, I can't find it either...anywhere :p

You mean File->Job Control? That's where it used to be, but it's gone with the newest version.
I don't understand, I know it's supposed to be somewhere but maybe my version is just messed up or something :(.

Well in latest VirtualDubMod (1.5.1.1a) and VirtualDub (1.5.1 & 1.5.2) I still can find the 'File -> Job Control' window (shortcut : F4). And yes the 'Options -> Shutdown when finished' is there (as was the old button in previous versions of VirtualDubMod).

Wow, talking about hidden settings! :D
The original VirtualDub was already a GUI nightmare with all the settings scattered around, but you guys are only adding to the confusion. I'm not saying that you do a bad job, I love VDubMod and very much appreciate the work you've put into it, but as an interface it's way too crowded with settings/windows/menus.
I believe there's a lot of options that can either be moved to a better place, or removed altogether (because no one ever uses it).
Is simplifying the interface at all in your roadmap?
Ps. Thanks for helping me find the shutdown option :D.
thx alot!
another stupid question : can i use this option as i used to? namely, i kept it always on but when i was just around i simply turned it off even during any job operation. is it still operable? (options are usually allowed to change when no process is running)
add.: i agree with acaila. would it be possible to bunch all this options/settings/preferences somehow together? just a humble quest.
i luv this stuff!
thx again

ps yeah yeah, a tipical lamer i am. just buggin around such "prior options" :-)
[EDIT]

I'm sorry if my above post seems a little demanding, after having read it over again it does to me... To my defense it was early in the morning and I was in a hurry :).
I'd be willing to help with trying to make things simpler if you want.

In this case we were just going along with vanilla VDub. It's in the same place in VDub 1.5.x.
