Hi, let's try this again. I've just released v1.0.1.2 which should fix most of the major problems generated with my last release ;)

Thx for the "maintenance release". Someone's been quite busy lately :D

Still have another issue, but this is more related to ReAuthorist, so I posted it there...

However, at the moment I can only test with version 2.5.

My recommendation at this point would be to support version
2.67.09 instead of 2.67.07 since in version 09, quite some bugs of 07 have been fixed. Thats why I switched to 09 pretty soon after it came out.

Cheers

The next release will support 2.66.01.07 and 2.67.00.08-10. 2.66.00.09 is the only one I've tested.

I get an error when using the new DoCCE4U (1.1.0.2 beta). Even though I have CCE 2.50 installed, it still initializes EclCCE and I get the error:

EclCCE:

CCE did not finish initializing in a timely manner!

Error 126: The specified module could not be found.

Just wondering why it would invoke EclCCE if it's not needed?

Thanks again for an excellent program, I'll have to upgrade to the new CCE soon!

I'll try reinstalling DoCCE4U and see what happens. Since first pass takes an hour, I'll report back after that.

EDIT:
Reinstalling seemed to fix the problem intermittently. It worked once, and the second time it failed. I left all the settings default on the new install, but before I had the "Run CCE at low priority" checked. I don't think it was that... but who knows. Why does DoCCE4U add a path in the EclCCE .ini for CCE v2.50 if EclCCE is not required for this CCE version? I must be mistaken... but it just seems like a little bug to fix?!

Why? I just didn't feel like having to do things differently for a different version. RB thinks the 'timely manner' error is fixed in the new version of EclCCE. With CCE 2.66 I only get this error when I have it running in 'Idle' mode.

I'm using DoItFast 1.1.1, DoCCe 1.0.1.2, ReAuthorist 0.6.1 and
CCE 2.66.01.07.

The problems I'm having with DoCCe 1.0.1.2:

- The bias setting keeps on changing to a value of 10. Also the "Auto Determine Bias Setting" isn't determining the correct bias also. Once again it defaults to a value of 10.

- If you have loaded a file list, then delete the list, then load the same file list again, DoCCE won't be able to open the file list.
Only way I found for DoCCE to load the file list correctly again is to exit the program and start it up again.

Also a question about the quality setting...is it supposed to always be 40? Or should it adjust automatically?

Well those are the bugs I'm experiencing.

thanks for a great program.

Yeah, I think BBWoof already knows about that issue.

Workaround for that: you have to retype the avg Bitrate Setting (without "point" --> e.g. 3000 instead of 3.000), klick into another field and the bias will be re-calculated correctly.

Nope, IMHO 40 is way too high for most movies. The setting is not passed through by ReAuthorist at the moment either (called IQP in ReAuthorist).

I mostly use 16 or 17.

I think you are confusing QFactor and Image Quality Priority. The QFactor set at 40 is the Quantization Factor. This is the recommended value if you check out the RoBa encoding guide. It's used for the first pass. Then you also have the IQP or Image Quality Priority. That's the value you specify in RA. Since I didn't try the latest DoCCE4U, I don't know if it takes the value from RA, but I would think so.

Nope, he's right. DoCCE4U has QFactor 40, so far so good. But there's another Quality Setting now for Image Priority, which is also set to 40 by default.

It's not overwritten by the setting in RA.

Got this error in the log screen...

Does any know what this means?

Also is Avisynth v2.5.1 supported by DoCCE or is it only
version 2.0.8 fully compatible?

It works fine for me with AVS 2.51, although I didn't get to install 1.0.1.3

Maybe try opening eclcce.exe in the installation directory and configure it again.

Maybe you have to delete eclcce.ini first, then open eclcce.exe and set there the path to your cce.exe

ok, deinstalled 1.0.1.2, installed 1.0.1.3, same error: "there were errors loading program system information".

I checked the registry.

It's because the Encoding-Templates have no names (RoBa, Multipass, etc.)

Give every template a name (first key in every template), restart DoCCE4U 1.0.1.3 and you don't get the error anymore.

Just a small issue:

RA 062 also creates a Datafile for DoCCE4U in another format. The first line contains a comment that this is a Datafile for DoCCE4U 1.0.1.3.

The Logwindow shows an error when reading this first line, import itself seems to be no problem nevertheless.

1. For what do you need this interval?

2. The open dialogue should be no more issue, since CCE is now controlled by the integrated eclcce. I have german Win2K with CCE 2.66.01.07 and it works without any problem.

The timer interval and open button text were for when I was monitoring CCE with a loop. They shouldn't be needed anymore and shouldn't have anything to do with your multipass problem.

I think he mentioned, that he already tried RoBa-Template.

I also think that the error is based on using CCE 2.50 with eclcce, but I'm not sure on that.

Maybe you need new options in the settings UI to point to CCE2.50 OR to eclcce (which has to be configured before with pointing to CCE 2.66 or whatever newer version).

Do you mean QFactor or Quality? Quality is explained in the CCE Manual. A lower setting will spend higher bitrate on scenes with much motion.

From what I know a setting from 16-40 (depending on the movie) is recommended. I usually set it to 17.

The possibilitiy to (de)activate Alternate Scan and Progressive is needed by us PAL guys, when we have to deal with interlaced material and don't wanna deinterlace.

I noticed you changed the renaming scheme on nopull items from .MPV.M2V to .MPV.MPV

any reason you don't just leave them .MPV?

69Mws
15th May 2003, 22:01
Two things:

The number of passes seems to be passed through now by RA, but the quality setting will still be taken from the template instead of RA.

Would it be possible that the settings are not reset to default, when changing the template after a Datafile has been loaded?

Keep up the great work!

Im using version 1.0.1.3. with reauthorist .0621 and noticed that it names files with the NOPULL embedded to .mpv.m2v and the .scp file produced by reauthorist points the NOPULL files with just the .mpv extention. Aqua and BBWoof know about that issue, although I thought that it should work for NTSC properly and only PAL users are concerned with the renaming-issue, 'cause we never have to deal with pulldown on PAL sources.

If you like to ease up the process of renaming a little bit, just do the following:

- Open any texteditor
- type ren *.mpv.m2v *.
- save it with the ending "bat" (e.g. rename.bat)

All you have to do now is just copy this little batchfile into the directory where your "to-be-renamed-files" are located and execute it. Your files will be renamed to mpv again and you can delete the batch from the directory again.

That's quite useful when you have several demuxed PGCs in a demux-folder, so you don't have to rename them one-by-one manually.

So, as I am a PAL user, should I just rename them to .mpv, using a batch file?

Which file will ReAuthorist tell Scenarist to look for?

Is there something that tells DoCCE4U that it should run pulldown on it?
I'm sure this has only happened in the last couple of versions.

The new naming came up with DoCCE4U 1.0.1.2

For me RA always points to the mpv, never to the mpv.m2v, so I have to rename the re-encoded Streams. You can easily check that in the RA Script by opening it in any texteditor.

It's up to you whether you use my tiny batchfile or do it manually :)

I don't think that there's really a pulldown running on the files, it's just that they are named in another way.

I'm sure BBWoof will fix that soon :)

For NTSC, this is terribly incorrect, and will screw up most NTSC projects, as we need most of our *mpv.m2v files (just not the ones with nopull in them). Do NOT use this batch file. Rather, use:

ren *.nopull.mpv.m2v *.

I never had nopull in the filename when dealing with PAL. That can only occur with NTSC as far as I understand.

nah you wont see nopull files for PAL. But since NTSC users also read this thread, we need to make sure they dont try the ren *.mpv.m2v *. line, because it will seriously screw up RA's success rate (as in very little possibility of success!)

69Mws

Yup people, read carefully.

My advice is to take a look in the RA Script at first before doing any renaming and not to rename your files in any case, especially when you're dealing with NTSC material!

I've been working on the program this morning trying to fix the bug with CCE 2.50, and have discovered that the only way it can be fixed is to revert to EclCCE 1.4b. Without modifying any of my code, I switched back to 1.4b and CCE 2.50 works fine.

BB looks like your site is down. Or at least the link to the DoCCE4U.

By the way I was using version 1.0.1.2 just fine with cce2.5, but 1.0.1.3 it was deffinatly broke if that helps.

Thanks

The site went down for a while because the ISP was having trouble. Everything should be up and running fine. You must have caught it during downtime.

I don't know if this a bug in ReAuthorist or DoCCE4U but...

The BIAS value does not show up correctly in DoCCE4U 1.0.1.4
whenever it is passed from ReAuthorist RC3.

The highest BIAS value in DoCCE4U that appears is 50 even
though ReAuthorist assigns the BIAS value to let's say 62.
BIAS value 50 and lower shows up correctly in DoCCE4U.

I always have to manually adjust the BIAS value in DoCCE4U
to match that of ReAuthorist.

Like I stated at the top, or maybe it is a bug in ReAuthorist
calculations and the BIAS value shouldn't go any higher than 50.

Well just something I discovered.

It's not a bug with either. It's something that hasn't been implemented yet. Aqua is working on exporting all the data, which he has finished with RA 1.0.0 and DoCCE4U 1.0.1.5 will import and save it.

I hope this is not a stupid question, I looked through the forums (and even gave google a shot ;) )
Does anyone know where I can get a copy of EclCCE 1.4b? I am having the problem when DoCCE4U finishes, I end up with a 1kb m2v file. It sounds like the fix is going to EclCCE 1.4b, but I cant for the life of me find it. Can anyone help?

You are either kidding, or you have the search skills of a braised donut. A simple forum search for "eclcce" will suffice.

Latest version of EclCCE can always be found in the CCE forum, sticky thread labeled "EclCCE...".

I just bought CCE Basic and seems that this prog only wants a trial exe with ecl so I am unable to use DoCCe4u. Any plans on making it compatible?

good question.

eclcce, the utility used to help along CCE is really only needed because of the limitations due to the trial version... however, it should work just fine w/ the full blown version I'd think

Hi guys,

first of all, thanks for this nice tool.. second, is it possible that CCE SP 2.66.01.01 (Trial)is not supported by version 1.0.1.4 (BETA) of DoCCE4U? I always get the error:

CCE Executable associated with EclCCE is not supported by DoCCE4U. Please reconfigure EclCCE and restart DoCCE4U.

- In the log window it tells me the following: DoCCE4U 1.0.1.4 BETA by BBWoof started
- OS Kernel = Windows_NT (Good)
- ECLCCE executable 1.4c found
- Unknown or unsopported CCE executable found!

Any help? thx guys...

I believe 1.4 of ECLCCE was buggy.. 1.5 is out... try deleting your ECLCCE.INI file and drop in the new ecl and point to your ccesp.exe file again..

DoCCE4U uses EclCCE (see sig) to run CCE. EclCCE also adds support for loading and saving ECL files into CCE 2.66/2.67 (missing in these trial versions). However, this is supported only for CCE 2.66.01.07 and up. So you'll have to use CCE 2.66.01.07 (see Doom9 dowmload section) or CCE 2.67.

is there anyway of turning off the feature of DoCCE4u looking for ecl, since i am using a full version (Basic), this isnt needed. Otherwise i cant make use of the prog.

DoCCE4U will not work with CCE Basic due to some missing features in CCE Basic.

I was getting that same error. I don't know if this was your problem, but I when I upgraded EclCCE I put it in the same directory as the trial CCE. Turns out you need to put the new EclCEE files in the DoCEE4u directory and overwrite the old ones in order for the upgrade to actually work. That's what I did and that error went away. Good luck!

When they named it basic, they really meant it. It only supports 2 Pass VBR and CBR I believe. Also there is no option to add chapter points, only auto I-Frame insertion. Two very big limitations.

First off- thanks to Woofsoft for all of your great work on DoCCE4U, it's a real time-saver.

This possible bug deals with the "Convert chapters to film" checkbox: It doesn't seem to have an effect if you manually uncheck it to override the automatic setting. I found this to be a minor problem since I had already exported my chapters with chapterXtractor intending to use Doom9's method for backing up NTSC dvds with CCE and dvdmaestro, and then I decided to give DoCCE4U 1.0.1.4 a shot instead.

I had set ChapterXtractor to export the chapter list at film speed, so when I imported the chapter list into DoCCE4U I de-checked the "convert chapters to film" checkbox in DoCCE4U since it was unnecessary. After I added the encoding job in DoCCE4U, I double checked the job's settings and the "convert chapters to film" checkbox was filled and the list of chapter points in the box was wrong. I re-unchecked the box and decided to just run the job and see what happened. DoCCE4U still went ahead and converted my chapters to film speed in the ecl- meaning it had converted my chapter points to 20fps or so..

Of course the fix for me is to just export everything at 29.97fps from chapterXtractor and let DoCCE4U do its thing, but I thought I'd let you know that checkbox didn't seem to be working correctly. DoCCE4U will just do what it wants to do by converting the chapters to film speed- even if your chapter list was already set to film speed before you imported it.

Did you uncheck the box and browse for your chapter list file?

I'll do some more testing with this.

Can somebody confirm that the latest DoCCE4U (1.0.1.5) works with CCE 2.50? The previous version (1.0.1.4) did not work for me. It would complete the .vaf file build and CCE would report an error right after that so I had to revert to 1.0.0.9 for the time being. Thanks!

Hmm do you realize it would take you a max of umm.. 5 minutes to test that on your own? :D

yes it works w/CCE 2.5....1.0.1.4 worked to if you upgraded to EclCCE 1.5a or higher

Yes, but unfortunately I did not have any movies ripped on my hard drive. I thought asking would be the quickest way to find out. Thanks!

Anyone had any problems w/ CCE 2.67 causing output video's to studder?

Everything seems to have a slight pause every few seconds..... more of a hesitation then a pause

Going back to 2.66 to see if that fixes it

sounds like you have top field first checked. probably encoding an interlaced stream as progressive?

unless it is just bad media causing the film to st-uu-tt-er

Had the same problem! It looks like if you install the new DoCCE4U over an old one then you have this problem.

I uninstalled DoCCE4U with Uninstall.exe and then deleted the complete Folder. After this I installed the new version again and it worked fine!

I think the problem is that DoCCE4U trys to encode an mpeg audio stream and only the new CCE can do this and also showed joiled audio in the cce windows. But CCE 2.50.01 cannot encode audio and so he shows this error message.

I think you can also delete the registry key containing the templates to fix that. I had it too after a major update.
