hello
I got animatrix svcd and wanted to author in maestro with animated menus and the 3 subs (english, french and spanish).
I used (s)vcd2dvdmpg 1.1 to demultiplex (no troubles as far I know)
then dvd patcher 1.05b to put back the correct size of the movies (after import in mestro). Always no troubles.
Then I encoded the audio using vegas video 4 in 48 Khz. Ripped the subtitles using subrip 1.17 with .son format. Always no problem.
Except when importing subtitles, I had big desync, and I read previous post about it, I think I know the solution now. I need to reencode the video to get a correct video to import subtitles (any clue to encode correctly 3 mpegs in one?). I encoded the 3 mpegs with vegas 4 but the result is a 8 sec difference due, I suppose, to drop and non-drop TC; I have troubles with subtitles using this video too.
Anyway I'll find soon, I hope, the solution.
I decided also to make animated menus, just a page turn from 1 menu to another one, then a still image after the page-turn. Mpeg2 files are only 2s for the menus (can it give a problem?).
I made all the button links, compiled the project and decided to burn
using recordnow (even if I have troubles with subtitles).
But recordnow decided not to burn, usually, that means there is a problem with the structure. I forced to burn and the dvd doesn't work on my home DVD player. But powerdvd accept it without troubles.
Is there a way to know if I made something wrong according to the DVD structure, are there few very important rules to know (I thought it could come from audio, but tryed with PCM 48 Khz, 384 kbits and 224 kbits, same trouble).
Is there any software to check the consistency of the strucure before burning? (I tried DVD verifier but it doesn't give the info I would need).
Thanks for commentary (if you survived till getting here)
