View Full Version : DVB-C & ProgDVB
Hi,
I want to know how I can get the best possible quality for recording?
Is there a better codec to use than the default Elecard codec in progdvb?
info:
using software mode,
dvb-C
Windows XP
Thanks!

the software mpeg-2 decoder doesnt matter for recording.
progdvb just saves the dvb stream, nothing is changed.
Aha oki, btw. do you know a program where I can stream live via internet? it worked with windows media encoder when i had a winTV but it doesn't recognize the digital card..

Yes, there are many DShow filters for ProgDVB. These will improve just PLAYBACK quality (or less CPU used), but recording quality depends of what channel you're recording (some cheap free channels have awful quality). Some of these filters supports MPEG2 Hardware Acceleration (if your video card has it).
Download them here

Then extract the file in your Progdvb/FilterGraphs and select one of them in Audio/Video menu ... should work fine.

Okay.. which filter would you recommend to use for best quality? CPU etc isn't a problem.
