View Full Version : Hopefully easy AC3 delay question.

I normally use DVD2SVCD to do my compression when needed, but if it will fit movie only with just the ac3 sound and video I strip with DVDdecrypter. Well I have this movie that will fit movie only so I stripped it out, however I then noticed it has an AC3 delay in it.

I saw a suggestion when browsing the forums to use AC3Machine to remove it, it looks like good program, but it looks like it reencodes it thus adding compression, is there a way to tell it not to?

I guess what I'm asking is what are the best settings/program to use if i JUST want to remove the day on this file?

Look for a program called AC3Delay. It doesn't recompress the file it just adds or removes delay. Its so great it even reads the filename and automatically puts the correct delay factor in for you.

I am pretty sure I found it in Doom9's software listings.

Thanks, I used IFOedit to author the DVD in question, but sadly it messed up the chapter placement. Next time I'll try this program.

If you are using IFOedit 0.95 to author NSTC movies, it doesn't work well and it is a common known fact. PAL movies have no problems.

Noted, I had never really used Ifoedit to author before, I just used it because it was easy to remove the delay with it. I can live with the strange chapter placement on this one though.

For future reference I'll use something else.
