Hi.

I just downloaded ChapterGrabber in order to grab the chapter names of movies off the net. I installed it into the same directory as ChapterXTractor v. 0.962. I am trying to grab the chapters of Denolition Man (EAN=85391298526) which is presented here : http://video.barnesandnoble.com/search/product.asp?userid=511EMFC67C&VIEW=SCN&EAN=85391298526

Although I copy\paste the EAN correctly into ChapterGrabber and chose Import Names From Internet, I get an "Name Import Failed" error. Why is that ?

I have downloaded ChapterGrabber (1.0.1197.27273) binary (http://jvance.com/files/ChapterGrabber (1.0.1197.27273).zip) (13 KB) and unzipped it into ChapterXtractor directory like I was supposed to. Why doesn't ChapterGrabber work ? Should ChapterXtractor also be opened when ChapterGrabber searches the net for the chapters ?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Generally it gives the error "Name Import Failed" whenever your current chapter file created from an IFO using ChapterXtractor does not match (# of chapters, etc.) the information being pulled from the internet. Sometimes the information on the internet does not match what you are looking for. In this case try the Clipboard option. For example, copy the exact chapters you are looking for from the internet. Is should look like this1. Los Angeles 1996: Send in the Maniac. [2:47]
2. A Hot Time. [4:20]
3. A Cold Sentence (Credits). [4:19]
4. 2032: Lenina Lacks Stimulus. [5:15]
5. One Parole Hearing=4 MDKs. [6:13]
6. No Respect for the Law. [5:39]
7. The Governor's Problem. [2:24]
8. Legend of the Demolition Man. [1:39]
9. Wake-up Call. [5:01]
10. "So Much for the Sea Shells." [3:41]
11. Violence in the Hall. [6:04]
12. Blast from the Past. [3:41]
13. "Don't You Have Someone To Kill?" [3:21]
14. The Chief's Plan; What All Resturants Are. [2:42]
15. Dining with the Governor. [2:58]
16. Attack of the Scraps. [2:59]
17. After-Dinner Chats. [4:25]
18. 21st Century Sex. [7:14]
19. A Gift for Lenina; Phoenix's Programming. [2:41]
20. Confronting Cocteau. [2:14]
21. Wasteland. [4:14]
22. Friendly's Manifesto. [2:54]
23. "Let's Bring Back the Good Old Days." [1:00]
24. Unwelcome Guests. [2:20]
25. Pedal to the Metal. [4:24]
26. Unexpected Allies. [2:20]
27. End of the Cocteau Plan. [4:05]
28. CryoPrison Chaos. [4:35]
29. "This is the Best Day of my Life." [2:50]
30. "I Think I'm Gonna Like the Future;" End Credits. [6:17]Now press F2 Import from Clipboard. Good luck.

I copied your text and pressed F2 in ChapterGrabber but again I get the same error. ChapterXtractor was also open while I did this process. Can you please tell me step by step how ChapterGrabber is used ? I must be doing something wrong.

You must have a correct chapters files before you can import. Your chapters files should look "almost exactly" likeCHAPTER01=00:00:00.000
CHAPTER01NAME=Chapter 1
CHAPTER02=00:03:03.067
CHAPTER02NAME=Chapter 2
CHAPTER03=00:06:59.033
CHAPTER03NAME=Chapter 3
CHAPTER04=00:13:08.067
CHAPTER04NAME=Chapter 4
CHAPTER05=00:18:49.733
CHAPTER05NAME=Chapter 5
CHAPTER06=00:25:06.733
CHAPTER06NAME=Chapter 6
....
CHAPTER30=01:59:51.367
CHAPTER30NAME=Chapter 30Please make sure you are starting with a chapter file that looks like the one above. It is best if you create it directly from the IFO file. ChapterXtractor is only needed when you create a chapter file from an IFO (or simply opening an IFO in ChapterGrabber). Did you do that? Do you have a chapter file you created from an IFO?

Step 1: open chapters file from an IFO by pressing 'Ctrl-O'(requires ChapterXtractor)
Step 2a: (works 98% of the time) type in EAN # and press 'F3'
Step 2b: (in case of 2a failing) manually copy chapters and press 'F2'
Step 3: save your chapter file by pressing 'Ctrl-S'

Yes it works. I didn't know I had to open the chapter file through ChapterGrabber and then import the chapters from the web. Thanks a lot. Great tool.
