well it seems Ritek DVD+R media has disappeared from rima.com ...that's whacked. In about 2 months I'll need some and I hope it makes a comeback. I bought a 100 pack 2.4X Ritek DVD+R media for $150. Takes 22 mins to burn full 4.37GB dvd.

completely outta stock here too

I found it...only have to spend over $1,000 to get a $2.09 per blank... I think a nuclear missle hit a Ritek DVD+R factory myself.

Source = Pioneer Australia
I also read something along those lines in the last dvd burner test in c't (edition 9). They said something about high speed RWs not being readily available for the - format because Pioneer had discontinued making those discs and that it would take other companies a while to gear up for 2x DVD-RW production. For me that's definitely a damper for the - format, I was finally beginning to build some excitement for it(mainly because the A05 can be speed-unlocked and made regionfree) but high speed RWs are kind of a big deal for me.. I hate to wait an hour before I can start testing a project.

your bummed about DVD- doom9? how about DVD+ media is barely to be found. Perhaps they're creating an articial shortage to bring up media prices...kinda like gas prices in USA. $1.80 a gallon now.
