View Full Version : bug in dif4u 1.1.0c (or maybe not)

If DIF4U decides that CCE should encode as 24 fps, either using decomb or DVD2AVI, it still dumps the CCE chapter marks using 29.97 fps - it needs to modify the CCE chapter settings, since they are frame numbers rather than timestamps.

Great product, BTW - it saves me a ton of time doing a high quality backup. Thanks a bunch.

I have no idea what in the world you are talking about. DIF4U doesn't do chapter points at all. Please research the apps you are using before reposting. I'm guessing you have an issue with DoCCE4U, but I'm not sure.

OK, so when it invokes DVDDecryptor, DVDDecryptor creates the chapter files. Fine.
I'll deal with it.

You don't have to be an ass about your response.

Hmm I'll openly admit I like being an ass, but I wasn't trying to be this time. I just really didn't understand the question. And I'm still pretty sure your real question lies with docce4u. DVDDec doesn't create 29.97 chapter files unless the video is 29.97, unless there's a bug in the latest build.

OK - sorry I was having a very bad day yesterday.

DVD Decryptor has some options to dump chapter files for Scenarist, DVD Maestro, and CCE as it's dumping everything else.

I had turned those on.

So when DIF4U invokes DVD Decryptor, I get the files. Since I only invoked DIF4U, it automatically seemed like something DIF4U was doing.

Since I use DIF4U in automatic mode - it IVTCs the video back to 23.976, but of course DVDDec did the chapter frame number for CCE as the original 29.97(the Scenarist and DVD Maestro chapters are in times, so they're at least close, barring drop frame issues).

I was thinking that DIF4U generated the chapter files itself, in which case, it could modify the CCE files depending on whether IVTC was done or not.

I manually use the chapter files to modify my ECL.

One curiosity question on my part - why a ResampleAudio in the avs script when there's no audio imported? Seems kind of odd....

Using DoCCE4U, it will import those chapter files automatically, and if it sees the source is 23.97 it does automatic recalculation of the chapters for you. No manual effort is necessary, as far as I know.

From what I've seen, CCE2.50 will crash without this line. It doesn't hinder speed or performance, so I add it for safe measure.
