My DVD player doesn't support chapters for SVCD. So I'm thinking of breaking up each file so I'll have tracks. I know there are programs that can edit MPEG-2 but I'm hoping to find one that will make this process easier. Is there a program where you can mark all the cut points and then have it automatically create and name each section in a new file?

try MPEGTool by Dino http://www.digital-digest.com/dvd/downloads/mpegtool.html
You need to cut each chapter seperately to another location from the original but it should do the job.

EDIT
----

I think Tmpeg can be setup to do multiple cuts at a time.

Thanks. Both of those tools do the job but I'm hoping to find one that can do it more easily and quickly.

this will help:

go to:
http://darkav.de.vu/
and download the MPEG2CUT:

from the page...

So, this will be the final version of MPEG2Cut from me for a long, long time, as now I can live with it. If you want to hunt for bugs or improve it, go on, as I uploaded the source, as well. So what's new: I added experimental VOB and MPEG2 VIDEO only cutting support, ac3 playback, track selectioning while playback and made i/o buffer bigger while cutting to hopefully speed up things. Last, but not leat, now '0' and 'insert' will also start/stop playback mode.

jorel,

Thanks. This looks like it works the way I want. You can't set a new start point on or after an end point but I guess I can live with that.
