Am somewhat a newb so this may be a dumb question.
I am trying a backup & have run doitfast4u and docce4u and now sitting
with a ac3 & m2v stream & IFO file on my hard drive.I do not want
nothing else but the movie,no menus,no subtitles but
english. From what I have read cce ifoedit is not the way to
go because of audio sync problems. Is this true? and if so could
someone be so kind to give there advice on the next step.
I see lots of guides for backups for multi pgc & audio & subtitles
but nothing on just backing up a dvd9 movie only, or am I
not looking in the right place. If so excuse my ignorance.
Thanx in advance.

My suggestions:

1) Read the guides, they are very good :)

2) If you don't have the time, or a head for technical mumbo jumbo to read and comprehend the guides, I suggest waiting for ReAuthourist to be released which will make 100% perfect 1:1 DVD-9 to DVD-5 conversions (no kidding). However, this method does require CCE and Senarist which aren't cheap to buy, but plenty of people have it ;) (don't ask for warez on this forum, this is a strict rule).

3) If the above option isn't obtainable, and the technical mumbo jumbo rule applies, I'd be looking at one of the all-in-one solutions. I've used InstantCopy and DVD2ONE which provide very decent enough results with conversions where the source is 6GB and under. DVD2ONE also has a movie only option which can free up a lot of space for the movie conversion. MisterX is one of the all-in-one guru's of this realm and has created some very good guides for maximizing quality.

sweet I can't wait...I'm a total noob too when it comes to advanced dvd authoring..way over my head. DoItFast4U, DoCCE4U, and ReAuthorist I plan on using when the next versions come out like you described.

I'm fiddling with DVD2DVD-R but IFOEDIT can't be used with NTSC discs just PAL. Remember DVD2DVD-R is main movie only, no multi-pgcs, etc. IFOEDIT could never mux more than just the main movie.

I really wish some hacker could figure out the reason IFOEDIT has synch issues with NTSC and not PAL.

Anyway DVD2DVD-R can output .scn scenarist script so it's just a matter of importing it but I'd rather have the automated IFOEDIT solution.
