View Full Version : can only burn bad disc suddenly....

...this is very weird....i tried burning with the discs i have always used....with both gear and prassi they burn fine...however the result is unreadable.......3 times in a row now.i have rebooted, reinstalled both prassi and gear...but no succes.....could it be my discs all of a sudden ? I will try with another brand and let u know what the result is.

the disc i always use a datawrites....now im trying with a datasafe 1speed disc with prassi....

ok i just tried the other brand...but at 97% prassi just hangs.....great....its getting weirder by the minute.i will try to burn it from my other xp partition, to make sure its not software related.

well i tried to burn my usual datawrite disc with gear on another xp install....no luck either....this is getting me frustrated.i go to bed now, i hope some of you have some idea what is going on and what i can try....it cost me 5 discs until now....yesterday i burnt a disc, works perfect..but now i only get crap :(

Hmm, if nothing changed as far as your hardware/software, then maybe your DVD burner is defective or starting to fail :( Is it still under warranty??

yes it still is, however....i have to flash it back to standard firmware first though...but that should be no problem, hopefully.but can it be that it is "starting" to be defective ? oh well i will try more tonight and see how it goes.I will get a dvd-rw disc to test if it can produce *any* working discs at all....

well i couldnt find a dvd-rw disc...however I can replace my drive for a new a05 for free! so thats good.I will also get a new AC power block, maybe its something wrong there....i mean last week my dvd-rom drive also broke down...

ok people i just succesfully burnt a disc with my new ao5 :) so it was the drive after all....thanks all for your help.this topic can ben closed now.
