I was wondering...

What tool does DVD2SVCD use to rip subtitles from DVD VOB's. I know that winsubmux is used to mux the subtitles. It seems to me that DVD2SVCD uses its own internal code for this task. Am I wrong?

I'm asking because I need to resolve a problem when playing SVCD disks on my DVD Player Philips DVD711. The video freezes when the first (or anyone else) subtitle picture appears (As a matter of fact it doesn't show any subtitles, but the video freezes).

Any help would be very apreciated

You must use SVCD subtitles (not CVD subtitles).

It's what I'm using: SVCD Subs and not CVD subs.

Thanks for your help anyway.

Have you tried upgrading the firmware?

Yes. I did an upgrade of firmware (to version 7.26) but nothing changed.

By the way I did today a downgrade of firmware (to 7.22) because version 7.26 was buggy (changing layers skips one chapter). Same thing.

I think it's really a model problem.
