I set appropriate bit rates/filesizes/resoltuins.
What now?

My previous Xvid encode, came out with no sound. Decent quality, but no sound. I picked MP3 in the Audio tab. It transcoded the ac3 into mp3, then after it did both video passes.. It didnt something with the audio layer, but the end product had no sound...Im not sure what im doing wrong.

Doing a DivX now.

Just finished encoding the matrix, and ditto. Sound was getting delayed...

At first it was barely noticable... But towards the end of thr film it was 1-2 seconds out :(

look at the second picture again ... at the very top "Audio Processing Disabled" is checked... :D
the settings on the other picture just show the bitrate calculation tab. these are just taken into account for calculations, not for the actual encodingprocess!!

if it encoded the audio... the pictures and the actual settings do not match! but it is no real problem, expecially as you still have the audio (mp3 file)...
just download avimuxgui (doom9 download section) and laod both the video and the audio file. the program will mux the audio and the video file for you!
about the async audio issue: make sure that you enter the same delay into gknot that dvd2avi wrote into the filename when demuxing... it should do that automatically but sometimes it seems to not work. so you'll have to enter it manually in the appropriate field!

hope this helps

Hi-

I'm a little unclear as to what you did also. Evidently you encoded the audio separately from the video, either earlier in GKnot, or separately in BeSweet or something. If so, you have to tick that box "Just Mux", seen blank in the second picture. Mux is short for multiplex which means to add the audio to the video. Unless you tell GKnot to do that, it won't. It's not a mind reader. :)

And as killingspree said, you can mux it yourself easily enough.

ahhhh ok, thx guys.

The screenshot was just for 'visual' purposes. I had ticked mp3-average bitrate when i encoded it..

Yes it had enetered the same delay. I think it was delayed because it actually played some bits of the movie twice. in the VOB that is ie: when trinity escapes the helicopter... but it plays fine when i watch it on my dvd-rom and standalone dvd player.

better try again then :)
