Hi, I'm quite new to the encoding scene and have been using 0.27 for a few weeks now.

Recently I've began encoding anime and I've looked at the forums and see people using IVTC and decomb, etc. I found IVTC in virtualdub but im not sure how to use it, are you supposed to click "direct stream copy" or "full processing"? Also, is there anyway to add all these plugins into gordian knot so that I won't have to endure a 2 hour wait for my divx to be processed? I've heard of "scripts" but I honestly don't understand the language so I was wondering if gordian knot allowed a simple adding of plugins such as IVTC or decomb.
Thanks

Oh, and if you could give me some tips on what plugins/things I should do to make my anime encodes look good, that'd be a great help. I searched the forums and most people seem to say that IVTC is necessary and one guy said he used warpsharp and smartsmooth or something like that but I wouldn't mind hearing other's opinions.

Thanks a lot!

Try this link: www.doom9.org/ivtc-tut.htm -- it should get you started understanding Telecining, Inverse Telecining, and choices you can make to improve your encodes. And, since you've been using Gknot, you'll be happy to note that much of the document is Gknot focused.

You'll learn about some AviSynth filters -- AviSynth is what Gknot uses to send video to the encoder (Vdub/Nandub). One of those mentioned in the tutorial is Decomb, which is a set of filters that can perform Inverse Telecining, among other tasks.
