View Full Version : CCE not working with DVD2SVCD

I have CCE Basic (ver. 2.67.01.09) and it won't work with DVD2SVCD 1.1.3 build 2.

I keep getting this error whenever CCE is about to encode:

fexp_open() failed: ***Could not create the file <=C:\Program Files\DVD2SVCD\Movie\Encoded_Video_CCE_NTSC.mpv>*** The filename, directory, or valume label syntax is incorrect.

[Windows Error code: 0x7b 123]

I did enable safe mode afterwards (the commonly suggested solution), but I still get the error.

I apologize if this is a redux, but during my lurking I could not find anything to remedy. If you have any suggestions, you have my undying gratitude.

Edit: whoops, forgot some stuff.

System specs-
Athlon XP 2000+
512 MB RAM
120 GB Hardrive
Windows XP Pro

DVD was Wild Zero, no region, NTSC, 4:3

and here is the area where the error hit on my log:

Damn I missed that one, thanks...

Edit: new problems-

When I run EclCCE I get this error message:

Unable to find CCE window!

Error 126: The specified module could not be found.

I am directing it to my CCE exectuable. Any suggestions? (BTW, I don't have the trial CCE... I have retail)

Also, I have this problem as well:

Now run DVD2SVCD again, go to the Encoder tab, click the Advanced Settings dropdown. Check "Use CCE template" and select the template suitable for your source. You'll notice that some CCE settings in DVD2SVCD are now unavailable, meaning they are controlled by the template. Note also that you should use the Interlaced template only if your source video is interlaced and "Keep Interlaced" is selected for the Deinterlacing option on the DVD2SVCD Conversion tab. Otherwise select the Progressive template.

The Use CCE template option is unselectable in DVD2SVCD. Any suggestions?

While waiting for someone to reply that possesses more knowledge than I, try using the search button in the link bar at the top of the page. You'll be amazed at the returns you'll get and might run across the exact same problem you're facing.......and the solution to go with it. Threads that discuss CCE encoder issues probably couldn't all be read in a day's time, so chances are very good that it's been asked and answered several times before. A complete and separate forum is also devoted to CCE, there might be something over there for you too. One can only hope. Good luck.

I did, with the exception of the above mentioned link, most don't help me.

I have since updated CCE to ver. 2.67.01.11.

Could that have broken compatability with EclCCE?

God, I love the smell of Barbecue in the morning!
I have since updated CCE to ver. 2.67.01.11.
From RB's read-me
25/04/2003 v1.4a
- Added support for CCE 2.67.00.10
- Added ability to minimize CCE to the system tray during encoding

Necro-tron, from your writing you are pretty intelligent so PLEASE use the brain your mama gave ya! :-/

Do you see anywhere that this version of CCE is supported by DVD2SVCD? If so please show me, if not...bring the sauce.

yeah man that version isn't even supported:(........But i'm sure it is an easy mistake to make, specially when you dont read up before you make posts like this. I just want to tell you that yes dvd2svcd does have some issues and has had issues in the past, but the odds of you finding a problem that hasen't already been posted are slim.

In the past i only had 4 or 5 problems and only 1 did i notice before anyone else had posted the problem. What should that tell you, well before you jump and think you have a problem.. read/search and number 2 the odds of you being the person of finding a problem and posting it first are so small that you should not hold your breath:)

I did try the aforementioned soultions before the update, and they didn't work since. So I figured I'd experiment and try them with the new version. I'll try and revert back to the older version.

He has been trying to use CCE Basic rather than SP. Something that I found a little confusing at first as well, but figured it out eventually.

Ahhhh...... so I not only do I need to go one version down, but I need SP too? Okay, cool. No problem.

Here's what I'll do: I can't download TMPGenc because my old trial ran out (that's why I went to CCE and I didn't want to bother with trial versions, so I bought the retail of basic). So what I'll do is this: I'll grab and use a trial of Canopus Encoder till support comes up for CCE. No problem.

If CCE basic doesn't have very good support by the time the trial runs out, I'll simply save up some money and grab TMPGenc retail. I had good times with TMPGenc anyhow :).

Can anyone direct to Canpous' site?
