Hi, I'm new here and I'm not sure that this is the right forum but I could use some advice on
making a DVD from 3 SVCD files. Since I'm not changing the format, I'm actually making SVCD's (put in "VOB" disguises) so I think I should post it here.
So, I've got myself 3 mpg's (AVSEQ001.mpg/PAL SVCD), all together being a nice movie.
Only thing is; there is about a 5 second overlap on each. Since I would like to put them on
DVD (we all do of course), I have some cutting to do.
I first tried to cut them using Ulead MediaStudio 6.5 pro but when I exported to a new
mpeg-2 file, the originals seemed copy protected (red cross all over the new file images)
When using Tmpgenc (merge&cut....and edit); it didn't handle the second file (only about 8:55). Giving me ILLEGAL VIDEO STREAM errors when trying to go beyond this point.
I could even hear the error in the file. When I played the section just before 8:55 it gives a loud scrambled
noise for a second, so it was right about the error.
It looks like I found myself between the famous rocks and hard places after all.
My question which I would like to put to you, dear video-guru-san is;
Howto (and Can-I) 'fix' the copy-protection on these (already ripped!) files so I can use MediaStudio?
Or, how to analyze/repair mpeggie's, so I can use TmpgEnc?
Maybe there is an other way around this problem. Can anyone please help?
:D
TIA
Chris
PS
I've looked around on the net and fori but most Q&A's seem stuck on DVD-to-SVCD instead of SVCD-to-DVD! Just wait a few years then they'll ALL have these kind of questions..
