surround sound with real audio wont work!

Hi everybody,

I'm not sure this post belongs here or in the new a/v formats, but since it's sound related, I decided to post it here.

I have the following problem:

I can't surround sound with real audio when encoding realvideo 9.
I usually use autorv9 to encode, when finished I noticed every time that I only have stereo sound. I get this in every encode I make.

Hope somebody has got a solution.

Hi vinkes,
real audio surround is like dolby pro logic, it's stereo with 1 back channel encoded in the phase difference. If you want to play it back and get the surround sound, you either need an external pro logic decoder or something like that (I have the SB Extigy) which extracts the back channel, or you need software to do that, though I don't know which (never needed one so far). But if you find one that works fine I'd like to know, too.

There is one thing I don't really get with real-audio, you've got an option to encode sound to surround real-audio. But helix producer can't load multi-channel sound (ac3, 5.1 wav).
