I'm using SmartRipper

unlike the 5.1 audio-track I've got no problem to demux, I can't hear a thing from the stereo audio-track demuxed file

the strange thing is the 2 files have the same size : about 80 MB

is there any "trick" I'd need to know ?

That does indeed sound strange. You could try DVDDecrypter instead.

If you play the DVD in a real DVD-player, can the stereo track be heard?

Both tracks work flawlessly.

Use DVD2AVI for demuxing, not SmartRipper.

I just retried with DVD2AVI to make sure, both tracks play flawlessly.

so... I've tried what you've adviced me to do

as the DVD is encrypted, I can't use DVD2AVI at first. I need to decrypt it with SmartRipper or DVDDecrypter.

once the DVD is copied on the disk, I've demuxed both of the tracks with DVD2AVI

I still don't understand why their size is the same when they don't have the same number of channels in them...

it seems the problem I had not hearing a thing from the stereo track was due to the fact that I used "azid --maximize". indeed, that track have more than 70000 "downmix overflow" within.
is that bad ?

What we meant by this is to let your Decrypter rip them normally to the harddrive and then demux it with DVD2AVI, that is do not demux it with the decrypter.

is that bad ? I have no idea. But if I understand you right you got it working now?

@ toraneko
Both tracks have 448kbps -> the bitrate fixes the size, not the number of channels!

ok

I've always thought the bitrate was indicated "by channel"
