I've been making divx/xvid backups of my dvd collection for awhile now and until just recently have always encoded the audio using the radium or lame codecs. Not too long ago, a friend of mine showed me a backup he had encoded using AC3 audio. Now the sound quality to me was like night and day, especially when using AC3Filter ver 0.65b.
I've been really happy with AC3, but now find my previous encodes using the mp3 codecs dull and lifeless.
My question is this...are there any playback filters, player plug-ins for mp3 audio or other such methods, that provide the ability to change and enhance the output of the audio track being played ? (the player being Zoom Player)
What I mean is something along the lines of the many DSP and output plug-ins available for winamp. Where you can give new life to a recording by changing the ambience, equalization and overall feeling of "flatness" to the mp3 audio channel.
Thank You for your time
