I have some music vobs with DTS 5.1 and some with Dolby 5.1 that I seem to be unable to remap. I have successfully remapped some using vstrip, but am having problems with others which will not seem to remap properly. (I want to have only Dolby 5.1 so that when I put a mix of vobs together on a DVD, I don't have to manually change audio tracks on my player song after song.)
For example, I have a vob that has DTS 5.1 . It plays DTS by default. Using vstrip, it says that 0x80 contains ac3 (actually, 0x80 thru 0x87). 0x88 contains "PTS", and 0xA0 has PCM. I have tried to uncheck the 0x88 and remap 0x80 to 0x88. When I do that, Power DVD still says audio is "Not Available". If I try to remap 0x88 to 0x80 and uncheck 0x80, Power DVD says its playing Dolby 5.1, but the sound comes and goes every half second or so -- ie: sound jumps all over -- the video freezes and jumps too -- probably trying to sync itself. I've tried dozens of combinations, but I either get audio Not Available, or the skipping audio and video.
The original DVD does have Dolby 5.1 and plays fine on my set-top. Don't understand how to get this to remap. (I have gotten most other files to remap successfully.)
Help please!
