24th April 2003, 15:14
hi after converting my divx file into an svcd format. disk 2 had no sound but disk 1 did. i have never had any problems converting divx into an svcd. both of the file has pictures. disk 1 looks good but for some reason disk 2 does not have any sound in it. can someone explain to me what could be the problem? the original divx file had sound throughout the whole movie so i don't know why disk 1 would have the sound but disk 2 doesn't after being converted. i have try encoding it using both tmpgeng and cce but that does not change anything. here is the log.

Do the bbmpeg muxed files both contain audio?
Have you had a look at the besweet log file?
Perhaps if you could post the besweet log that would be helpful.

only the 1st bbmpeg file had audio. the other one had no sound.

Try playing the file Encoded_Audio.mp2 (or whatever it's called!) in Media Player. Is this the full length of the movie? If not, post your BeSweet log file.

If the encoded audio is truncated, use DivFix (doom9 downloads to Error-Check the file. If you have corrupt data error try VirtualDub to repair your AVI (guides are plentiful, try dvdrhelp.com)

If the encoded audio file is the full length of the movie and has audio for the full duration I can only imagine bbMPEG screwed up. Try crash recovery from muxing and cutting. Failing that it might be worth muxing and cutting manually with tmpgenc (I don't use it so don't ask for instructions how - I just know there is a "simple multiplex" command in there somewhere)

Hope this helps. It should at least keep you busy for an hour or two :D
