View Full Version : Suggestions for S-Video in?

Hello all. I am currently looking for a video capture card for an XP box to do two things:

1. Help with some SVHS caps. These are some old fansubs that are beginning to die, so the answer "just rip the dvd version" i've seen in the capture forum doesn't exactly apply.

I know there are a lot of cards that will do this . . . but . . .

2. I currently use my computer as a TV just for my PS2, and want a capture card that will let me view the imput full screen so I can keep using it as a TV for my PS2.

I currently am using a Radeon DDR VIVO 64, which means that the only Video-in is RCA. This is fine for doubling as a TV, but for my SVHS caps I really want the extra scanlines that S-Video provides. I would love to be able to eek that extra quality out of my PS2 also though, which is the reason for #2.

I really don't want to spend more then $50 (i.e. getting something out of this pricerange used on ebay), but I can spend from $100-$150 if there is absolutly nothing in the $50-$100 pricerange that meets my requirements.

Also, I've heard a lot of good things about the Pinnacle DC10, but I really want a card that is compatible with XP, and I'm not sure if the DC10 can handle #2.

Thanks in advance,
