Hello,

I have just authored my first dvd and my DD/DTS-Receiver recognizes the audio not as Dolby Digital, it says Dolby Prologic. Is the File MP2 ?
I encoded the WAV to AC3 with AC3Machine!

The Creative Playcenter plays the encoded AC3-File correctly!

Normally the Receiver shows up Dolby Digital if the source (DVD) plays with AC3-Track ? There is no other track for this movie, only one audio-stream encoded in ac3.

What's wrong with it ?

I encoded the WAV to AC3 with AC3Machine! What kind of WAV was it? Unless it's a 6ch WAV your output will only be 2ch as well.. and most receivers show 2ch Dolby Digital as Dolby Surround.

okay, it was a Stereo-WAV but I wanted to get a DD 2.0 File, and other movies which were encoded as Dolby Digital MONO my receiver displays them as Dolby Digital, for example Warner DVDs!

to come back to my initial posting, that the Receiver is not recognizing the ac3 encoded material (encoded with AC3Machine/BeSweet) as Dolby Digital than "only" Dolby Surround.
Don't missunderstand me please, the tools (AC3Machine and BeSweet) are good. But I want to have best results. Do I get best results with these two tools ?

Does AC3Machine/BeSweet set the Dolby Digital flag to the file or not ?
Does AC3Machine/BeSweet produces real AC3-Format ? Or is it only "renaming" the mp2-format to *.ac3 ?

My Receiver should show up Dolby Digital material if it is Dolby Digital encoded, and it doesn't matter if the audio was encoded in 1.0, 2.0 or 5.1 ! But with BeSweet encoded AC3ss he shows up Dolby Surround. What is AC3Machine/BeSweet producing kinda Dolby-Signal ???
My DVD-Authoring Software handles AC3 correctly!
