Being this one site sees at several countries, and the format of Sound Dolby Digital 5.1, to interest a lot of people. I propose the all the experts that is made a guide step by step to create a sound
Dolby AC3-5.1 (with 6 channels Audio), of one File PCM or WAV, Mono or Stereo. I judge that the best is to do a question, and when all answer, to pass á asks following. I judge that the best is we be Practical, Necessary, an Simple, Without however to flee to the theme.
Placing doubts unsuccessful experiences.
(the old movie Papillon when it was recorded, at the most the sound would be Stereo, however the dvd of this movie, have the Dolby AC3-5.1,) as it is that the engineers did, I don't know, but I judge that with experiences of some, and the practice of other. We will give a light for that all learn as it is done.
I ask for that, to all, your help.
Like this being, I ask:

forget it, it's impossible to get real 5.1 out of mono or stereo sources.

Old movies or series with real 5.1 tracks have BRAND NEW soundtracks, they are not made out of the old mono or stereo sources (well, only the actor voices are token from the old soundtrack, but the music and effects are remade from scratch)

You will find that the 5.1 version of most originally stereo movies are crap.
I have the zone 1 stereo release of Blue Thunder (to name one), and the zone 4 release has 5.1. Anyway the stereo version beats the hell out of the 5.1 version. All the 5.1 transfers are too quiet, have no decent bass and generally have bad surround effects.
I think they only convert them to try and sell them sometimes.
Apocolypse Now redux sucks big time. I have the original release with stereo, and the helicopter scenes really rock with bass, on the 5.1 Redux version, the bass is muted and they tried to bring out more of the high frequency sounds. Which IMHO destroys the movie from my point of view.
I find that the original soundtrack is what the producer wanted so why f... with it. Anyway PL,PLII makes a better job of it!
