Hi!
When I rip dvd movies I usually rip the movie with dvdecrypter and then make a mpeg2 project with dvd2avi. At this point I usually convert the ac3 sound files straight to mp3, with --r3mix settings.
But sometimes the audio gets reaaally weak. And I think thats annoying. I've tried normalisation in dvd2avi and besweet etc. But none of it seems to help. What do you think I should do?
Also, should I stop converting the ac3's straight to mp3, and decode them to a wav and then pack them to an mp3? Could this "method" I use cause the silent audio? I only use it because it's so much faster than decoding first.

And yes I used to search but I didn't seem to find a solution... :scared:

the --r3mix settings are long since outdated. But that aside, you should give the BeSweet GUI a try, read the audio FAQ again, especially the sections about normalizing and DRC. I don't see how BeSweet could be making parts of your mp3's silent, do you perhaps mean that some parts are quieter than others?
