I'm having trouble getting the speed I know I should get in CCE 2.66 on a particular computer. I have a Dell Poweredge 1600SC, it has a dual processor mobo, but I am only using one Intel Xeon 2.8ghz processor on it. 384mb ecc ddr ram. The "Speed" statistic in CCE averages about 1.5 when encoding from a huffy avi, and only .2 or so when encoding directly from the avs. Now my first reaction would be "gee, hdtv takes a long time" but I know that it can go much faster than this. Its pretty ridiculous considering I've had it running at speeds of 1.75 on a P4 1.6ghz. Any one have any idea why this computer would be so slow?

Oh, I'm using CCE 2.66 and Avisynth 2.50... willing to try anything. anyone who has a similar processor maybe, even if you don't do HDTV stuff, I'd appreciate any input.

I save to a huffyuv avi and then feed that into CCE.

I read in the FAQ replies that CCE only uses about 60-70% of each processor in a dual cpu setup. Anyone know if this holds true on a dual processor board with only one cpu? If so that would certainly explain my current issues. Anyone have a dual capable mobo and only one processor? How can I check how much it is using?
