I've formatted my primary hdd, re-installed Win2k, pertinent apps, drivers, W2k SP's, etc... I'd like to save everything as is before moving forward, so as to avoid another.. um.. shall we say, "adventure".. :)

What is best method to image my hdd?? I've read up on some free share-ware apps, retail apps (Ghost, ImageDrive, etc..) and a little bit on Win2k 'recovery' method.. But I'm not sure which is 'best' or 'most efficient' method based on reasonable $$ spent..

Again, I simply would like to backup my system as it is now (after fresh re-install of everything) in case I run into any problems that would require me to re-format hdd/re-install everything.. Just in case it matters, my system is comprised of:

Asus A7V333 mobo
AMD Athlon XP2000 (1.667G)
512M DDR PC2700
Win2k OS
ATI A-I-Wonder 7500

Thanks...

This is a place to start (you might have seen it already):

I like and use Norton Ghost. Has worked for me without a glitch: very fast and dependable.

Powerquest Drive Image
Image files small enough to fit in one CD...(empty disk space excluded),boot from floppy, completely restore system in 3-4 minutes :D

With the rate of driver and BIOS (chipset, video, mobo, etc, etc,) updates, there's not much point in imaging anymore. I stop using it and completely reformat every 3 months or so instead. Nice to have fixes and updates, but when you have to install it every week or so it becomes a real pain :(

After reading up on Ghost, Drive Image, True Image and BackupNow, I'm leaning towards TI. Has anyone used True Image (i'm 'trialing' now) or Roxio's BackupNow? Comments? Oh, I'm not very 'adept' at all with DOS, so I'm looking for Windows-based... (yea, I'm 'dumbed-down'. :)

Regards xox's comment, it'd seem that BackupNow is a good option, as it updates constantly; however, drawback is that it takes up space/memory.. Any other ideas..
