I want to transcode ny AC3 file to 5.1 OGG using OGGMachine. Here are my questions:
1) Should i disable "Downmix LFE to LR", since i have 5.1 output?
2) What quality setting for output Vorbis file should i select? My original AC3 file had 448 kbps bitrate, and since i have 6 channel audio, as far as i concern, 0.250 setting of approx 94 kbps should not be enough for all 6 channels. So what bitrate (i mean quality setting) will you advise?

hey
afaik at the moment it does not make sence to creat 5.1 oggs atm, because channel coupling is not yet supported. as you know the lowest recommended bitrate for a stereo ogg file is 96 kbit ... now if you have 6 channels you would need at least a bitrate of 3*96 (=288 kbit) in my eyes it does not make sense to make such a file. if you want 5.1 sound stay with ac3 (perhaps transcode it to a little lower bitrate) or if you need a smaller filesize go for a 2 channel ogg file

just my 2 cents though (:

And what 'bout downmixing? Should it be disabled for 5.1 output?
