HD LED blinking strangeness

I just got myself a NEC1100A recently and noticed a very strange thing: the drive LED on my tower blinks whenever the yellow LED of the NEC blinks :confused: :confused: I tried changing IDE channels, also slave and master but the LED still blinks :confused:

Any idea? Board is a MSI745 (SIS745).

Well that's right when the burner is burning i expect it to blink because the HD is accessed, but it blinks even when the HD is not accessed (f.e. during POST) and exactly in the same pattern as the burner. It doesn't happen with my other burner (Plex 24x) .. guess it's just an oddity of my burner/board combination.

The HD LED isn't just "on", it blinks exactly in sync with the NEC :)

maybe you have your configation on cable select?

nope. i tried all combinations on both drives (cable, master, slave), it still blinks. but i already got used to it :)

I have my nec (Slave.)and dvd reader on the second ide connector and the hd on the first allone. Maybe this works. :D :(
