Hi there

I am sure this has come up before but I have looked through the site index and cannot find any reference to it nor can I find it in the posted questions.

I have an mpeg2 file that I have downloaded to my PC from my satellite receiver using my ATI All in Wonder card. I want to be able to write this file so it can be played on a standalone DVD player.

I know that I have to create ifo and vob files to do this but I am unsure how to proceed. Can anyone help please.

You need an authoring programm, PowerTools is really good for beginners. Everything is where you expect it to be and it has the features most users need.
It also has a build in burning function, which you should use, cause on a video dvd it is important in which order the files are burned. nero burning rom can do this, but i had problems with other burning software.

I did have a look at using DVDMaestro but could not find how to get it to accept an mpeg2 file as a source. I will do some more digging around.

In the meantime thank you for your assistance in connection with the above.

I could get used to Maestro, too.
If you want to add an MPEG2 Stream, you probably have to demux it first and import the .m2v (Video) and .mp2 (Audio) seperate. That's at least how it works with Scenarist.
