Hi and thanks for looking. :)

A recent problem, but when trying to play newly ripped DVD files/modified files is that IfoEdit/DVD Player just crashes.

Now before that IfoEdit would play anything even original DVDs so I could check what I needed before ripping. It now comes up with a message about IfoEdit ' not displaying closed caption ' or more recently it says ' no dvd volume could be detected' or something similar. Either way it always crashes.

I am assuming that it is due to some new software I have insalled, but I am not really sure at all.

Anyone have any ideas? The only recent s/ware I have installed is Instant Copy 7. All other new s/ware are simple .exe progs.

Very annoying as this is one great app and esp for checking DVD structures after stripping/re encoding etc, which I cannot now do.

Thanks for any help, cheers. :)

Could it be your WinDVD trial version has expired?

Hi,

I do not use WinDVD. I only use PowerDVD now to check out my DVDs, but I would much rather have IfoEit back up and running as it always points out any errors like illegal navigations in them where PowerDVD will sometimes just play it still. When I have tried those in my standalone they have hung/crashed.

I'm sure it is an incompatibility issue with something I have recently installed, but not 100% positive.

Thanks. :D

How about doing this.

De-install or remove your IC7, IFOedit, and PowerDVD.
Reboot
Re-install in order: IC7, IFOedit, and PowerDVD

Well that was the first thing I tried. It did nothing and I re-installed all of them. Maybe IC left some setting/file behind that affects IfoEdit. If I can't find an answer then a format then re install, bit drastic though.

Might not even be that anyways...

Thanks.
