View Full Version : editing dv

I bought a Canopus ADVC-100 firewire device that hardware encodes composite sources directly to dv avi. It works great to capture video with either dvgrab or Kino, but editing using Kino is a royal pain in the ass, not to mention having it crash all the time.

I like avidemux a great deal but it won't open my dv2 files. Is there a better alternative?

Maybe you will try out cinerella or If you want something comercial I read main actor 5 is out. Maybe it is somehow possible to get dv2 in avidemux too (haven't used it yet) or if nothing helps, use Vdub with wine (??). I guess this is a question for the mjpeg mailing list (since there are a lot guys with such a hardware)

Avidemux has been slightly modified so that his file can be edited
(on the unstable branch).
Normally, it is solved :)
