View Full Version : VSFilter.dll - bug in subtitle alignment: BOTTOM => RIGHT

Dear Gabest,

in VSFilter 1.0.0.0, I have the following problem: When I use the alignment to place the subtitles, the vertical alignment is taken over to the horizontal direction. For example:

- I want to place the subtitle up from the origin at the BOTTOM => The subtitles are also always placed to the left from the origin at their RIGHT border, no matter how I selected the direction. So, "ON at *** BOTTOM" always practically results in "ON at RIGHT BOTTOM".

The same happens for CENTER => CENTER and TOP => LEFT.

Rippraff told me in the german forum, that this bug is probably fixed already; unfortunately, Gabest did not update the DLL internal version number, so I didn't realise that the version shipped with an older GordianKnot 0.28 alpha was probably a bit too old. I'll check it ASAP; happy Easter, anyway.

Bad news:

Today I downloaded the filter again - still the same version from April 13th, this seems to be the latest version. So I'm not very proud to present the results:

http://www.ligh.de/images/vsf_0413.jpg

# Origin, relative to the upper-left corner, can be overloaded by aligment
org: 360, 480

# Image scaling (hor, ver), origin is at the upper-left corner or at the alignment coord (x, y)
scale: 90%, 120%

# Alpha blending
alpha: 80%

# Smoothing for very blocky images (use OLD for no filtering)
smooth: ON

# In millisecs
fadein/out: 200, 400

# Force subtitle placement relative to (org.x, org.y)
align: ON at CENTER BOTTOM

As you can see: Wrong placement.

BTW: The "false colors" are intentional (I was about to repeat my "MIB Backup report" for the German doom9 site with GKnot 0.28 and AviSynth 2.5x; looks like this project will have to be delayed until this bug will become fixed).

Fixed and updated vsfilter.rar.

I need to install the updated files as well-where can I download them? Or do I uninstall the entire Vobsub and re-install it again? The wrong alignment came when installing Vobsub x.23 contained in the GKnot-pack. The "stand alone" downloadable Vobsub at doom9 has the same version number, but has it been updated?

It is only one file now, not dependend of any other dll from vobsub 2.23. You can find the link in this thread but I have no idea if it works with gknot: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=41196&perpage=20&pagenumber=4

GordianKnot 0.28+ uses AviSynth 2.5x - and therefore uses VSFilter.dll; previews of a GKnot-generated AVS file with subtitles in VDubMod look well now, using the updated VSFilter. And I hope that GordianKnot 0.28.1 will already contain this updated version.
