Just when I was about to burn the DVD I was working on I tested everything using the DVD Play option in IfoEdit. At the end of the movie I get an error message that really confuses me. The first thing that comes up is "DVD Warning: Could not read a file on the DVD disc." Then a second box pops up and says, "Could not read part of a file on the DVD disc. Playback may not continue." While playback does continue (it goes back to the menu), I can't figure out why I'm getting this message. I didn't take anything out of the DVD (simply split it to 2 discs) and the last cell on the DVD exists. Any ideas what this means or how I can figure it out?

DVD Warning: Could not read a file on the DVD disc means you are missing a necessary file or files.
There are DVDs that have post Titles after the movie has ended. It could FBI Warnings, company logos, movie notes, etc. These could reside in another Title Set aside from your movie's Title Set. I have an assumption that you have this error on your first disk. Either you opt to bypass them in your PGC commands or copy the missing files from your other disk folder to your problem disk folder. You can still edit for bypass after your split but for future preference, you should do this before splitting while you still have all your files in one folder.
Play your unsplitted DVD and skip the end of movie to see what Titles follows in your Status window in your DVD Play panel. You will use this Title number to find out which Title Set you are missing and copy it over. There may be more than one Title, so play and document until your main menu display again. Read this guide for assistance, Disabling/Bypassing Unwanted Titles (Version 2) (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=50245).

Hmmm...well I tried that and found out the thing that is missing is actually from the same title as the movie. Not sure what to do...

Does your movie contain mutiple PGCs in it's IFO? Some DVDs have a PGC_2 with only a 15ms blank clip. This clip could also be used for inserting a layer break.

Well, I finally looked at the second disc and discovered that you are correct. There are two PGC's that got put on the second disc (one 15 ms one and another 5.05 seconds). How do I get these transferred onto the first disc so it doesn't give me that error?

Use the link above ,Disabling/Bypassing Unwanted Titles (Version 2), on your problem PGCs on your first disk. If you still have problems getting to your Main Menu without errors, there's gotta be something playing after your third PGC. Most likely a Title.

Still not working. How do I go about figuring out what is supposed to be playing after? Thanks for all your help!

Play your original or second DVD and watch your status window in your DVd Play Panel. Write down what is displaying after your movie ends and a brief description.
Hellfire, if your DVD is a NTSC region one, what movie are you trying to do? I'm also live in NTSC country and it could be to my advantange to be able to see the whole picture than figure out bits and pieces on why you movie doesn't work properly.

Ok, this is really weird. I was changing random things to see if they did anything, and I found if I changed "the last sector of this cell" value from 1974305 to 1974304 under the last cell (cell 10), then I no longer got the errors at the end. Does this make any sense to you why it would "fix" it? Should I have done that?

I guess this warning is give by the author to "discorage" you to use ifoedit for spliting dvd9 -> 2 dvd5 and encorage you to buy his commercial program "DVD X Copy" :p

Sigh...Yes, it does makes very sense and embarrasing on my part. :o I should've thought of this earlier. We went through all that reply posts only to find that the answer to your problem was right in front of us in the the sticky threads. Read the first post of this >
Split-prob: file re-allocation error on Nero (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=33120). I can just see Josh and Chibi Jasmin reading this post now. They had a long thread awhile back on DVD-splitting using IFOedit concerning this bug.

LOL I actually read that thread awhile back too. It just didn't come to mind because I never tried burning with Nero, so I wasn't get that exact error. But it pays to play around :) Thanks again for all your help!!
