I'm converting MP3s to 48khz wav file. Some works fine. Some don't.

Here is my log:

BeSweet v1.4 by DSPguru.
--------------------------
Using hip.dll v1.13 by Myers Carpenter <myers@users.sf.net>
Using Shibatch.dll v0.2 by Naoki Shibata & DSPguru (shibatch.sourceforge.net).

Logging start : 04/14/03 , 20:35:57.

e:\TEMP\BeSweetv1.4\BeSweet.exe -core( -input c:\Documents and Settings\Anel Duldulao\My Documents\music\Ahmad - Back In The Day (Remix).mp3 -output c:\Documents and Settings\Anel Duldulao\My Documents\music\converted\Back In The Day (Remix).wav -2ch -logfile E:\TEMP\BeSweetv1.4\BeSweet.log ) -azid( -z1 -b1 ) -ssrc( --rate 48000 ) -profile( ~~~~~ Default Profile ~~~~~ )

[00:00:00:000] +------- BeSweet -----
[00:00:00:000] | Input : c:\Documents and Settings\Anel Duldulao\My Documents\music\Ahmad - Back In The Day (Remix).mp3
[00:00:00:000] | Output: c:\Documents and Settings\Anel Duldulao\My Documents\music\converted\Back In The Day (Remix).wav
[00:00:00:000] | Floating-Point Process: No
[00:00:00:000] +------ Shibatch -----
[00:00:00:000] | Source Sample-Rate: 44.1KHz
[00:00:00:000] | Dest. Sample-Rate: 48.0KHz
[00:00:00:000] | Attenuation : 0.0db
[00:00:00:000] +---------------------

and I would get this message from XP:

BeSweet.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Here is the last line if I don't have it logged:

Stream error : Sync found after 93 bytes

Different MP3s gives me different bytes.

Would appreciate it.

First, kick out the -azid switch. This one is for decoding AC3 files and thus totally useless. Second change -ssrc into -shibatch. That shouldn't make a difference, but just to make sure. If you still find problems, upgrade to latest 1.5 beta version. If this still doesn't help maybe there's a problem in hip.dll. You may want to try madplay from the DVD2SVCD package. This may float around the net, just do a google search.

Hope that helped.

Use RazorLame.
Open your MP3, click decode, you're done!

tiki4, just finished trying it.

first removed -azid and changed -ssrc to -shibatch, no werk.

then moved to beta16, no werk.

*sighs*

O.K. then really use LAME (and if you need that the GUI RazorLame (search on Google for it)) to decode your MP3. Alternative is still madplay which does the same for you.

I went ahead and tried both. But I can't seem to have both of them to resample to 48khz. Are they capable of it and I'm just not doing it right? That was the reason I used besweet in the first place. Any ideas? thanks!

decode -> as is!

After you convert to WAV, you can resample using other applications, like WaveLab or CoolEdit or whatsoever

BTW, why 48KHz? if you're not planning DVD, you're wasting your time.

i'm using ulead picture show 2 to make vcd slideshows. i have music in it and I seem to have distortion with sound. i'm trying to isolate as to what's the cause of it. i've been trying to find out if vcd runs at 48khz, but so far, i'm not sure. so i'm just trying this out and see if it's the cause.

vcd standard has 44,1KHz

well, in that case, that's not the problem. hmm. back to the drawing board.
