I have just capped some vHS tapes and the problem is that the color is weird. Basically everything is kinda pale. For example a guy with
a brown complexion looks pale. Is there any way I can apply some automatic filters to fix this ?

Try the VirtualDub ACDSee filter.

Post a frame grab so we can see the problem.

You can try Tweak(sat=1.5) to boost the color saturation. There are other filters but we need to see your problem.

Did you have a look at Wilbert's excellent analog processing guide at avisynth.org, reported in this recent thread:

Correcting color is a little tricky -- you have to experiment a lot IMHO...

The problem is that shiny colors look less shiny and also it looks different on a PC monitor then on the actual TV set.

Is there any way that I could output my videos to a TV set from my PC so that I could see how it look on a TV screen ? My PC Tuner card doesn' have video out. Is there any special hardware I would need for this or can it be done through FireWire or USB 2.0 ?

Is there any special hardware I would need for this or can it be done through FireWire or USB 2.0 ?Certainly if you had access to a DVCAM and had a firewire port and the correct cables and an external TV monitor hooked to the camera you could do this with no problem. Sounds like it would be easier and a lot cheaper for you to go get a vid card with TV out.
