For some reason when I open some AVI files to encode to MPEG 1, the program just crashes. Any ideas?

Does it crash (real crash) or do you get an TMPH Error message?

Did you install your sofware properly on you computer? Maybe driver error? display driver? Codecs installed? Maybe too much codecs?

De-install TMPG, remove all registry entries and the complete TMPG dir and try to install it again.

You must provide the people more information!

What CPU?
How much RAM? (EDO, DDR, ...)
etc. . . .

Cheers

Thanks. It's installed properly. I've got a P3 1gig. 256 mem. It's been running fine. Now, though, it's giving a Kernel error.

Is the kernel error something with "ntxxxx.dll" ?

Try to remove every TMPG tag in the registry before starting an new ver. of TMPG.
