Ive tried a couple verisons, and same result, usually taking a really really seriously long time. Im talking about 12 hours to encode a 352x480 mpeg 2video thats 5 minutes long. This is on a dual P3 800.

I tried on my shiny new Dual Athlon mp 2600+ system with same result. The cpu's will go 100% for a while, then fall back to almost 0% cpu time. This makes encoding a whole movie impossible, and short clips very painful.

I have tried with the huffyuv source, also I have tried with avisynth 2.07

avisource("x:\movie.avo")
and as

avisource("x:\movie.avo").converttoyuy2

(Just in case the colorspace matered)

Same result. How come, and how can I fix it? I got my dual 2600 MP's and I want to be able to use them! Thanks.

Are you using any of TMPGEnc's built in filters? Those will slow down an encode tremendously. Use AVISynth's instead.

If that's not the case, I don't know what the problem is.

I have the same problem, so i move to CCE, and the problem is reduced.
But I love "mpeg tools" in Tmpgenc, still using it.

Try this :

a) Some TMPG versions have a bug, so it takes a 4x longer time to encode a file.

b) When you load the file(s) go to the Template settings (!!!: First load the video/audio files, then load the template, then go to the template settings);

ADVANCAED :

1) Go to Source Range, double-click!

2) Move to "Start-Frame" & then "Click Set-Start-Frame"

3) Then move the slider to right (to the end) and then klick on "Set End Frame) , now TMPG knows how long the file is and should show you the correct time (and work proporly)
