Sorry if this is posted somewhere already. I am a newbie to using gknot but I want to get past the basic functionality of it and add some filters. But first I need to know

1). what filters are the best/most useful and when should they be used, on what type of movies, for what effect?

2). precisely how do I do this? give me a link that has a good guide on this or provide some clear and detailed instuctions please. keep in mind that I do not know how to use vdub.

I'm using gknot 0.27 w/ divx 5.02 and whatever version of vdub that comes with system pack 1.0

Adding filters in GKnot is done by editing the .avs file that is created. VirtualDub just does the compressing, all filtering and resizing/cropping happens in something called AviSynth.

Check out www.avisynth.org (http://www.avisynth.org) for more information on how to use it. You'll find a lot of filters in the FAQ part3 and if you have any questions you should look in the 'AviSynth usage' forum here.
